Description

Tilt Fighter is a side scrolling space shooter in the "shoot 'em up" style of arcade games like Galaga and Space Invader, but developed exclusively for the iPhone and iPod Touch to take advantage of your device's accelerometer, multi-touch interface and powerful graphics capabilities.

In Tilt Fighter, you:

- Tilt your iPhone / iPod Touch left and right to manuever your space ship past asteroids and through enemy fire.

- Touch the screen using gestures such as taps and pinches to unleash your arsenal of weapons, including your Laser Cannon and Anti-Matter Bombs.

Tilt Fighter also has beautiful graphics and stunning scrolling backdrops for each level, and a huge variety of diverse enemies along with enhanced sound for effects such as laser shots and enemy explosions.

Blast your way through three difficulties and submit your top score online!

Star Trek Voyager and Truxton

:
This game reminds me of that classic Sega Genesis game "Truxton". Also the ship u command looks like the shuttle "Delta Flyer" from Star Trek Voyager. This game is worth it! For those who gave bad review, no we can NEVER have enough of these types of games! Also pls try the game 1st b4 u write reviews! 2 thumbs up and a Shaka as well to the developer/s from a Hawaiian local!

i like the concept of the game but it would be a lot better if you could play in landscape mode. also i dont like how it shoots automatically. it makes it like you dont have to do anything.

Ground-Breaking Concept! Intense...

:
With Tilt Fighter, the player must simultaneously manage the positioning of a spaceship that is navigating through a series of obstacles (ranging from asteroids, to Spaceships, to enemy shots) and use touch controls (gestures) to manage the ship's weapons systems.

As other reviewers have mentioned, the ship fires a constant stream of projectiles straight down its path. But, many of the obstacles and enemies can absorb multiple hits, so the player must also make use of a directional "laser cannon" to achieve optimal play. The laser cannon has perhaps a 135 degree field of fire, and the player must take the intended target's motion into account when choosing where to shoot (in most cases the laser cannon's shot must be led to achieve a hit). A "tap" gesture fires the laser cannon.

At times, the playing field becomes overwhelmingly dense with enemy units and asteroids, and for such circumstances there is a "panic button," the anti-matter bomb, which clears the screen. The bomb is placed with another gesture, a pinch.

The combination of needing to:

1) position the ship by tilting the device one way or the other with one hand while
2) determining a safe navigation path,
3) identifying targets,
4) estimating shot placement,
5) tapping with the player's second hand to shoot, and
6) tracking how many times enemies have been hit

makes this an intense game that stretches the player's ability to multi-task.

I like it. And, it seems like this type of game could evolve in a lot of interesting directions.
